Mr. Smith responded to a consumer complaint posted on pissedconsumer.com posted below:

To Whom It May Concern:

I am Jeffrey A. Smith, the attorney / owner of the Jeffrey A. Smith Law Group, P.A.. I am ethically obligated not to discuss the confidences of my clients and certainly will not do so in this forum. Even if I could, most, if not all, of the ”complainants” hide behind the anonymity of the internet.

In this internet obsessed society it is far too easy to sit behind a desk and computer and attempt to damage the reputation of another, or even worse, to lie with impunity because there is no one to check the factual accuracy of what is being posted in cyberspace. For example, the owner of a “consumer advocacy” forum appears to have been linked to arrests for Racketeering and Mob related charges if you search in Google you will find this.

Certainly most prudent people have come to the conclusion that not everything on the internet can be trusted and it would be quite foolish to make our everyday decisions based on what we read on the internet.

Regarding my firm and the folks who work for me, it is true that we do not please all the people all the time. That is not possible.

What we do is we give our best effort to provide legal services to our clients and attempt to assist them in whatever their legal situation may be. Our only guarantee is that we will do our best to provide quality, affordable legal services.

In closing, for those of you who will form an opinion of me or my firm based on what you have read here, good luck to you as you make your way through life’s difficult decisions.     This company is only about ripping people off. I had dealings with them for almost 2 long years. They told me any and every lie they could come up with until I finally lost my home in May of 2013. I was actually currant on my mortgage when their lying salesman “Bill” called me and told me they their law firm could make my mortgage payments lower which sounded great since I was having hard times in my business anyway. Well this law firm made hard times even harder!!! he stress level these people can give you is unreal with their careless lies. So after I lost my home, “Kim” who was suppose to be one of the top people there, told me that I would get most of my 2800 dollars back. HAHA what another lie. I received a letter from the “Mr Smith” telling me to return the letter that stated he would return money to me and I acutally talked to “Paul Alonge” and he said they would send my money back. Well, this is Feb. 2014 and I have received nothing and they will not even return my calls now. And to Mr Smith, I am not a internet generated fake, I am Mr Edwards and a real person now dealing with life threatening cancer. I hope you rest in peace every night knowing that you ruin peoples lives and dreams!!!!

    It is also easy to attack the integrity of the consumer and make it their fault when they were promised something and then neglected or denied simple things like emails and phone calls.

    The blogs and complaint sites are full of these complaints about this law group and all the owner can do is respond with smug arrogant answers denying all responsibility.

    I am sure that in some cases they are successful but do not be fooled by arrogant insulting rhetoric, most of the complaints are about poor service and neglect and not about their success rate.

    Poor service is a choice they chose to make in their self serving attitude.
