says otherwise. Jobnab.com is also not a member of the BBB despite what their site says. (I think they can get in trouble for lying about that too)
Also, jobnab is a subsidiary/other company of some really not too.. Oh, hell, let’s just call em crooks, b/c that’s what they are.

I find it pretty funny, Mr. Banks, that google doesn’t find you anywhere but Facebook. That’s pretty sketchy depending how much you actually defend these people.

iT’S A SCAM ! ! They send you to a link in hopes that your foolish enough to go there and drop your seemingly safe status information,.. Once in… You skip all of those offers in hope of that 100 or 500 dollar checks they have ready to be delivered ! ! You become starry eyed only until the very last page where you must make two ( 2 ) purchases, and BAM !!! They caught their phish… Wasted your precious time because they feed off of peoples desperation and last precious dollar of yours that you need in your sad time of unemployment.. The phone rings constantly from telemarketers.
My advice is to mark JOBNAB as SPAM…. And tell the callers to place you on DO NOT CALL LIST ! ! !

Jonathon, we have yet to hear from the attorney you’ve hired to represent you and with whom you claim to have consulted with on Friday. If you would like to share his or her name, I will have Myra contact him or her. As she explained, she cannot speak to you directly if you’ve retained counsel. Or, if you prefer, you can have your attorney contact Myra through her contact page on the Florida bar website. You can find it here:
http://www.floridabar.org/names.nsf/0/C897C20E4B25DC3A85256A840013479C?OpenDocument
Despite your assertions otherwise, all of the information there is correct.
I also don’t know why you find it so shocking that one of my duties is public relations. After all, have I not spent considerable time here relating with the public regarding our site? Are you similarly shocked when pulled out of a burning building that the person who did so was a fireman?
While we’re on the subject of people’s education, since you are only 22 and don’t appear to have your degree yet, perhaps you should consider Stetson University which was founded in 1883 (more than a hundred years before you were born) by Henry Deland and has been awarding law degrees since 1900. I’m sure the student body and faculty will be happy to tour you around their “unknown” campus. You shouldn’t have much difficulty being admitted, the freshman class had an average High School GPA of 3.7 and SAT scores of 1030 to 1240.
I’m also sure they will accept your one semester of credits from Bauder College in Fashion Design.
Although, I’m not sure it will help you earn your Juris Doctorate, also referred to as a Doctorate of Jurisprudence (http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Doctorate-of-jurisprudence).
I assume you have an interest in the law since you’ve reviewed all Federal and State statutes governing internet commerce and specialize in writing ineffectual terms indemnifying yourself from lawsuits. In fact, perhaps you could cite the specific provisions that require us to provide any of the proprietary information you were requesting?
Now, I’m not familiar with the curriculum at Bauder, but maybe one of the faculty members there covered the Roman rhetorician Quintilian who said, “Those who wish to appear wise among fools, among the wise seem foolish.”

Mr. Hopping,
He’s PR for JobNab. Shocking, right?
As for who these people are and contact info, good luck getting that out of them. I was contacted by a woman named Myra Nicholson, “Esq.” Turns out, she’s apparently a Doctor of Jurisprudence with the Florida Bar Association.
Her contact information was incorrect on her Bar profile. I contacted the number that was on there and it went to a finance/mortgage company who had no idea who Myra Nicholson was, had never heard of her, had no idea why their number was on her Bar profile, was even located in a completely different part of Orlando, and according to Julie (the receptionist I spoke to), I’m not the first person to call trying to get in touch with a JobNab employee/representative.
When I confronted Ms/rs. Nicholson about the incorrect information on her profile, the fact that she graduated from an unknown law college,
and that even though she’d apparently been a part of the FBA for over twenty years I was unable to find ANY correct contact info online for her (though, I was able to find a summary of a trial in which she was part of, where she was representing the owner of The Internet Company [the parent company of JobNab] on – of all things – alleged identity fraud), she accused me of launching a [sic]personal attack on her. I assured her that it wasn’t a personal attack; it was just something I found strange.
After going around and around, I finally told her that I’d been nothing but polite and civil with JobNab, and that her indirect refusal of my requests that are clearly legal under Federal and State law was insulting and disrespectful. I requested that the next email include the information I’d asked for so that I could forward everything to my attorney. She quickly responded by telling me that since I’d decided to take it to a legal forum that she could no longer correspond with me unless it was through my legal representative.
Never saw ANY information.
Just sayin…
Mr. Finn –
No reason to respond to this. I’m sure it will be the scripted response that you’ve become synonymous with in my mind. You have a habit – positive or negative is a matter of opinion – of dancing around in circles. You’re quite the dancer… Fred Astaire couldn’t even dance around as smoothly and as confidently as you do.
Julia Sugarbaker (Dixie Carter) from Designing Women says it best:
JULIA: “You know, Ms. Gibbs, growing up in the rural part of Georgia, I’ve been around compost all my life. I’ve seen it loaded onto wagons and tilled and hoed and spread across fields far and wide. But until today, I must say, I’ve never seen it tied up and gift wrapped in quite so neat and tidy and “pretty” a package. Congratulations. You’re a very clever girl. But it’s still compost. Now if you’ll excuse me, I leave you to dig your way out. You do know how to dig, don’t you? You just get down on your hands and knees — and shovel.”
Good day, sir.

Jonathan, you were removed from our company’s mailing list just as you requested, which your attorney will inform you is all that we’re legally required to do.
Beyond all of that though, I understand you’re frustrated. This is the most bleak job market in decades. And for someone as young as yourself trying to get a foothold in a career in such difficult times must be miserable.
But we are not the cause of that.
We make a convenient punching bag. We’re an easy target to direct your anger and frustration towards. We’re getting very used to filling that role for some people. But we are not responsible for your difficulties. We have spent a great deal of time and effort to build a system that benefits people in your situation.
But as good as it may make you feel to vent your anger at us, it will not affect your employment situation. My nickel’s worth of advice is to channel this energy and use it productively to either search for a job using whichever methods you feel comfortable with, or possibly try going to school to get a degree that will give you a leg up in this economy. Those are the best uses of your time to get you on with your life.
I wish you luck in all of your endeavors.
So, I wrote HER a letter and CC’d Mr. Banks:
Dear Myra,
While it IS interesting that you have the same name as someone famous, I have to admit that it made me rather skeptical of your true existence. So, to make sure you weren’t a robot sent to take over the world, I turned to the only source of information one can trust in times like these — Google.
It would appear as if you DO exist, however the jury is still out on the robot theory. Being a Doctor of Jurisprudence, you graduated from Stetson College of Law (a college I’d never heard of until I read the name on your profile on LinkedIn), have been a member of the Florida Bar Association since 1987 (the year before I was born, might I add), and have already been part of a lawsuit against several other spam sites that are linked with JobNab.com.
You also seem to have trouble getting your phone number right. I tried the number on your Florida Bar Association page and reached a mortgage/finance company who had never heard of you before, had no idea why their number was on your FBA page, and was even at a completely different address than the one listed on your FBA page.
I’m a forgiving guy, and we’re both human (right?!). So, I went back to Google. I found three more numbers. All fake. I went to NetDetective to find a real address and phone number — ANY real address and phone number. All fake. Everything I was able to find on you was fake! Fake phone numbers (oh, they were real, but they didn’t reach YOU), fake addresses, fake everything!
Who ARE you, Ms/rs? Myra Nicholson? How is it possible that you could be practicing law since 1987 — 23 years!!! — and every bit of contact information online that I was able to find is fake? Something, I don’t quite know what, smells phishy/scammy/illegal to me!
But, enough about you! Let’s talk about me!
Nowhere, on any website (whether JobNab or otherwise), did I authorize ANYONE to text me. EVER. As for the emails, I authorized Monster.com to send me weekly updates, and NEVER JobNab.com. When I signed up for Monster, their Privacy Policy specifically said that my private information would not be shared with outside parties. I called Monster on Thursday after receiving this email — JobNab is an outside party.
It would seem that your argument has fallen dead in the water. And you call yourself a Doctor of Jurisprudence! Speaking of titles you call yourself — Esquire?! It’s an interesting title to add to your name. It’s unfortunate that you had to pick such an anti-American, aristocratic title, but, that’s your choice.
Please release any and all information concerning this issue (including, but not limited to: website names, ALL known contact info, program and/or software names and creator contact info, etc) IMMEDIATELY, so that I’ll have it all when I speak to my attorney on October 22, 2010.
Please keep all correspondence within this email with previous dialogues attached. When providing the requested information, please include it in text in the email as well as an attached .pdf.
ANY ATTEMPT AT CONTACTING ME THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE THIS INFORMATION WILL BE VIEWED AS MALICIOUS INTENT TO PREVENT ME FROM EXERCISING MY RIGHTS AS A CITIZEN OF THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA UNDER FEDERAL AND/OR STATE LAWS AND WILL BE CONVEYED AS SUCH TO THE CORRESPONDING AGENCIES AND PERSONS.
Govern yourself accordingly.

So, I received a FaceBook message from Mr. Banks saying that they couldn’t find me in the system (because I use a pseudonym on here rather than my real name for privacy issues), so if I send the email to him personally or customer support, he’ll make sure I’m taken out of the system. I sent the email to him personally (pr@jobnab.com Imagine that! He’s the Public Relations person for JobNab!), and he forwarded it to “Myra Nicholson, Esq.” I clicked “View Full Headers” and it was interesting. Her email address was given a vanity of myra@mnicholson-law.com (mnicholson-law.com doesn’t exist), but her real email address comes from networkemailsolutions.com. The original email that I sent to Mr. Banks was a vanity as well. His real email address goes to @corporate.internetcompany.com. This is the response I got from her:
Mr. Frank – Jobnab, Inc. referred your email to me for response. Job Nab regrets your unsatisfactory experience with them. With respect to how Job Nab received your email – Job Nab is a job posting web site that is part of a network of other job posting web sites. The use of network web sites is an established practice within the job search industry to allow for greater exposure of an applicant’s resume to job opportunities. Job Nab is part of both partner/affiliated web sites, and also the broader non-partner/non-affiliated job posting web sites.
When you applied for a job on one of the network job posting web sites, you agreed for to be contacted you via email, phone or text. Job Nab does not provide email addresses outside of what they disclose in their Privacy Policy. Job Nab has a posted privacy policy that permits the information provided by the applicant to be shared among both the partner/affiliated web sites, and the non-partner/non-affiliated web sites. Job Nab does not take part in nor condone phishing, identity theft or spamming of email addresses.
Because of your unsatisfactory experience, Job Nab has removed all of your information from the Job Nab database, and has taken steps to assure your information is removed from all partner and affiliated web site databases. However, Job Nab has no control over any non-partner/non-affiliated databases, and therefore cannot assure that your information will be removed from their web sites.
If you have further questions, please feel free to respond to this email.
Myra Nicholson, Esq.
Not only did she give me completely scripted responses, she ignored my request for the contact information and names.

I’ve been receiving unsolicited emails from JobNab representatives at the rate of about 70 a month. I’ve tried to unsubscribe, but have yet to be successful in that endeavor. I just sent them an email that I’ll copy and paste here.
Let’s see if they respond to this one:
Dear Madam/Sir:
After receiving around seventy (70) emails from you, I’m emailing you to ask you to please halt the flooding of my email inbox with messages from JobNap representatives. Furthermore, I demand that the only contact I have with JobNab subsequently be through this email with all previous correspondence included.
I’m unable to ascertain how your company managed to attain my email address, however I would appreciate the source/s’ name and contact information (contact organization, contact name, contact title, contact office phone number, contact email, as well as the same information for the author of, and corporate sponsor of: [including, but not limited to…] any software, web crawlers, spiders, phishers, and/or any other device and/or program used in the procurement of my information). Please send this information via text within this email field, as well as a .pdf or .img file attachment with this information inside. Any answer given to the request for the source/s’ name and contact information other than the afore mentioned information will not be accepted and will be viewed as the company being uncooperative.
Because of legal stipulations, I’m require to say “Please take me off your email list for future mailings from JobNab Career Services/Human Resources.” Hopefully by now you understand the point, and have realized that I do not play games with my internet/email privacy.
I expect you or another representative of JobNab to follow up with me (again, by replying to this email with all previous corrspondence included) once this has been accomplished along with the contact name, title, orginization name, telephone number, and/or email) in a timely and efficient manner by close of Federally-accepted business hours on October 15, 2010 (10.15.2010). Any lack of response on the part of JobNap will be considered refusal to cooperate and this information will be included in all complaints lodged with the corresponding Federal and State agencies.
I’m well aware of my internet/email privacy rights under the CAN-SPAM Act passed by Congress in 2003. Following your reply to this email, I will be filing a complaint with the Secretary of State in your state of origin, the Federal Trade Commission, Florida Senator, Bill Nelson, as well as several other elected officials in Georgia, my state of residence.
Any noncooperation on JobNab’s part will be viewed as malicious and/or will be included in my letters/emails to the previously mentioned agencies and persons.
I’ll appreciate your quick and efficient reply providing a solution to this problem.
Sincerely,
-(my legal name)
Sue
I also received a text from “anne” and I am in Pittsburgh so how does one in Pgh, PA train and go to an office in Miami, Florida and the sight had a 15 min presentation of what they do and how they do it. The position was job scout 12-15 hour plus bonuses. I think the bonuses are for the ones you do get to go to a college as most of the web sights start out as “when I apply I am immediately taken to a college page to opt out” then on to the job I was looking at. I am confused by all the postings, but I need a job and it is hard to read all of these postings, they all send up “red flags”
Dora wrote on facebook:
Has anyone ever been able to get a Real job lead through JobNab?
It seems the only jobs you are able to offer are as a ‘job scout’, one that few people can seen to make a living wage from.
I just started to look for a job last Friday. I made the mistake of filling out One online application, and have been receiving emails, texts, and phone calls ever since. None of these people have been able to give me the name of an actual company, in my area, who is hiring. Just vague hints at a ‘position’ in a ‘company’ that they will forward my resume to, and then pressure to talk to someone about going to school.
I just graduated college. I need a job, not more education. A real job. Shame on you Mr. Banks. Not only is it difficult to find a job in this economy, but you and your ilk just keep dumping more crap in our way, making it more difficult and frustrating. Stop it.
